From outsider to part of the crew
Hello everybody, my name is Eugenie Sandrock, I’m 23 years old and currently studying event management in Amsterdam. From February to June, I have the pleasure of doing my internship at Jungle Kitten. When I’m not busy with school or my internship, I’m usually working or spending time with friends, whether that’s going out, discovering new places, or just enjoying a good night together. I love being around music and energy, so you’ll often find me at concerts and festivals, even if drum & bass wasn’t exactly my usual scene before this.
That’s also what makes my role at Jungle Kitten so interesting. As a junior, I bring a fresh perspective to the team and, as a true Gen Z’er, I naturally keep an eye on the younger crowd. I mainly focus on creating content for social media, from posts to reels, and work closely with Koen on the creative direction behind visuals like posts and posters. And yes, I might have had something to do with Jungle Kitten finding its way onto TikTok.
During my time at Jungle Kitten, I’ve learned how much goes into building a brand and a community from the ground up. From thinking strategically about content to actually creating and refining it, I’ve developed a better understanding of what works and why.
I’ve also learned how to translate ideas into visuals that fit a clear identity, and how important consistency and timing are when it comes to social media. Being part of a small and driven team has shown me how much impact you can make when everyone brings their own strengths to the table. It has definitely pushed me to be more creative, more confident, and more hands-on in everything I do.
One of the highlights for me was being part of my first Jungle Kitten event. Experiencing everything I had been working on come to life, from the visuals to the atmosphere and the people, was honestly amazing. The energy, the music, and the crowd made it such a special night, and it really showed me what Jungle Kitten is all about. It made me realize how fun and rewarding it is to be part of something like this.
Being part of Jungle Kitten allows me to grow creatively, explore a new world of music, and contribute to building something that is driven by passion and energy. It has also introduced me to so many new people and showed me how genuine and close this community really is, which has made the whole experience even more special. And somewhere along the way, it might have created a new jungle and drum & bass fan too.
